Lyndoch Christmas Play

Tuesday was the Community Connections Final Farewell for 2011 at Lyndoch. Room 9 and both the Junior and Senior Choirs attended, providing entertainment for the guests and residents. The Choirs sang Christmas Carols followed by the students in Room 9, who had put together a play about the first Christmas.

Many of the students made their own costumes, and all had rehearsed very hard for the important role they each played. They then sang “All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth”, which the residents thoroughly enjoyed.
The students were spoilt with ice cream and sprinkles, lolly bags and afternoon tea to finish off the days celebrations.

Mr Porters Room 2 “Top Marks”

The following article was reported in the Herald Sun last Friday 2nd December 2011. Well done
to Mr Porters students who have been
working hard on their maths this year!

“After our report earlier this week that the greyhounds in Race 8 at Sandown finished
in exact race-book order from one through to eight, we wondered what the odds were of this happening. Grade 4 pupils at Merrivale Primary School have pro- vided the answer through teacher Matthew Porter. The kids tell us there are seven dogs that can finish second, six possibilities are left to finish third and so on. Multiply these numbers together and the odds are:

8x7x6x5x4x3x2x1= 40,320”
